Music Ministry

Music is a living and vital part of the Christian experience.  It can move believers to profound experiences and brings the lost to the fold.  Music knows no age restrictions.  It's in the heart of all of us, which is why our music and worship ministry is all-inclusive.  There is always a place for you, regardless of your age, talent, or training.  We hope you will join us in this ministry as worship leaders and congregational participants in praising the Lord through the celebration of music and drama. 

Celebration Choir
The Celebration choir leads us in musical worship on Sunday Mornings.  If you would like to participate in this choir, join us on Sunday afternoons at 4:30 P.M.   Membership is open to all adults without tryout or audition.  It doesn't matter if you've never sung before.  We are committed to teaching you some musical skills.  Child-care is available during rehearsals.

 

Praise Team
The Praise Team is made up of active members of our Celebration Choir who are willing to go the extra mile.  These members are selected by the director and agree to an extra evening of rehearsal and to participate in both musical portions of Sunday morning services.  These members are selected by the director not because of their musical ability, but for their willingness, commitment, and desire to lead our congregation in worship.

 

Celebration Players
God has blessed us with a great core of talented and committed instrumentalists.  Their common bond is a fervent desire to glorify the Lord through instrumental music.  The Celebration Players worship by providing special instrumentals such as preludes, offertories and postludes. Their abilities allow them to play a variety of styles including Contemporary Christian, Hymn arrangements, Southern gospel and Gloryland band (big band and stage band sound).  This group adds to the atmosphere of worship by accompanying the Celebration Choir and congregational singing during the morning service each Sunday.    We ask that instrumentalists joining this ministry have at least three years of playing experience, and meet with the players on a Thursday night rehearsal where you will be warmly welcomed and discuss chair placement within the group.     

Children's Choirs
The Cherub Choir is composed of children ages

three through five years of age.  Rehearsal is Sunday evenings at 6:00 P.M. during the school year.  The Cherub Choir brings a special sense of joy to our worship services several times throughout the year.

Beginner & Junior Praise Teams
These two choirs resherse during the school year on Sundays at 6:00 P. M.  The beginner Praise Team is for 1st through 3rd graders.  The Junior Praise Team consists of grades 4 through 6.  You can imagine that these groups also bring a special energy to our worship services throughout the year, and usually present a Christmas and Spring musical during the choir year.  We invite and encourage all our children to participate in these Praise Teams.
